You do not have to to have a major event happen to send someone a thank you note. It is something one should send to those they care about often.

So why not pick a photo you like, or go out and take one, and then have some personal thank you postcards printed with the photo to have ready for your personal thank you notes.

Here is a thank you photo postcard with a photo that says to me:

They got married and they chose the photo of the two of them coming out of the ceremony as the right photo for their thank you.

"The Group" or "The Kiss" - Choosing a Photo

They had a difficult choice on which photo to select for their thank you postcards.

Should they choose "the kiss" or the "the group" photo ?

They decided to print some of each because each photo communicated a different feeling for their cards. Here are the choices:

"the kiss"

These offer very different feelings, but they are both full of happiness. When you say thank you, don't you want to express happiness. I think so, and I think these did a good job of that.
Also, the back side has a unique design, with good information framing the area where a personal note can be placed.

This is a good one to remember for future designs.

The turtle on this card needed to say thanks to their supporter's. Why not ? All supporter should receive a note of appreciation as a minimum to giving their support.

This is cute and produces a feeling of appreciation.

How much time do you spend each day moaning and complaining about all the things going wrong or that are bad about your life. Things don’t always go to plan. It rains when we have to go out, the bus doesn’t come, our head aches, we feel grumpy and low about everything. There is no denying that for some people things are difficult – but are we those people? Maybe we need to take stock and really evaluate the sum total of our lives. Is our cup half empty, or if we really look at it, is our cup more than half full?

Dwelling on all the negative aspects of our lives can become a habit and many of us find it hard to find pleasure in even the smallest thing we do. It becomes too easy not to wear rose-tinted glasses, but glasses that obscure the reality of what is positive about our lives. It came home to many people about how fortunate most of us really are when the tsunami hit. As well as many lives lost, many people lost their livelihoods, their homes, their families, friends, and neighbours. How many of us have actually faced something as devastating as that? Then there were the gale-force winds that hit us here in Scotland, not long after the terrible flooding that meant many people were forced from their homes in other areas of the United Kingdom and everyone was suffering from power cuts. Standing in a hot shower the morning after we had spent the night without power ourselves, I know I, for one, was counting my blessings. That shower really put it in perspective for me. The evening before had been a little challenging to be sure, (where were the spare batteries and were the candles all in safe places?) but it had also been rather fun. Not so for those people whose lives had been washed away by a giant wave. I had so much to be grateful for and so many good things in my life. Every moment was to be savoured and noted.

A good exercise is to get a little notebook to carry around with you, or sit down with a piece of paper at the end of each day, and take time to note every good thing that you experience in the day. It can be as big as getting a promotion at work to as small a thing as having a baby smile at you – a tiny gift that is given unreservedly. You will soon find yourself concentrating on the things in your life that make you feel good – the things that you can say ‘thank you’ for. Surely going through your days with a positive frame of mind has to be better than spending every moment looking for the dark side of every cloud? If it is raining, look for the rainbow. Jump in the puddles and enjoy the life you have. It won’t come again.

Why send a Thank You card ?

My children often ask, Why should they send a thank you card?

Let me give you a quick example: My youngest son is a young, quickly rising, corporate banker. He and his wife live 100 miles away and we don't get to see them too often with all of us working our different schedules. About three weeks ago, I hand delivered his birthday gifts and took him out for lunch. He had hopes that he could visit on his birthday weekend and get Mom to make him his favorite chocolate cake. The weekend came and he called, apologizing that he was in bed with a chest cold, unable to visit. (No mention of his presents.) That's OK. One week after his birthday, I still had no idea if he liked his gifts. I wrote him a short eMail to ask and I received a three line reply - yes, he got them and yes he liked them and he would visit soon. Crushed!

It was not the cost of the gift - it was the effort I went into to make sure that (1) he had a gift and (2) he had a card and (3) it was delivered on time (or in this case early). Everyone has a busy schedule. I try to make sure that I am timely with my efforts. I like for my friends, family and co-workers to know that I am thinking of them. Thank you cards or postcards are easy to drop in the mail and they make the gift giver feel like they were appreciated.

The person receiving this Thank You feels appreciated. This is the whole reason behind a Thank you card.

I have designed a postcard that I use for a lot of my Thank you notes. It is 4x6 inches so only costs 24 cents to mail. I keep a small quantity in a plastic envelope in my car with a couple of stamps. I write my note while waiting in traffic or picking up someone and then I lay it on the kitchen table for addressing. An important part about a Thank You is that you send it timely and that your Thank You is sincere. You can take time to be thankful. After all, relationships with family, friends and co-workers and clients are the most important support we have in our lives. Be Thank Full.

Trip photos on thank you card

If you go on a nice trip after your wedding it always nice to share some photos from you trip. You will also need to send out some thank you notes to those who participated in your wedding. Why not share some of the joy from you trip by putting some trip photos on a custom thank you postcard ?

Say Thank you after a birthday party

It is fun to send some nice birthday invitations, but it is also quite important to send some thank you notes off after the birthday.
